European Satellite TV

European Satellite TV

Let’s discuss more on the following…

For ex-pats living here in the UK, you can receive your native channels from back home via a satellite dish. There is a wide range of European language channels available which includes, French, Spanish, Italian, German and Greek to name just a few. There are a whole host of mainstream channels available on a free to air basis and for the movies and sports lovers out there, there is also a range of subscription-based channels available in stunning high definition HD.

When it comes to European and International satellite services, there is a wide range of options available. Most European channels can be received through a fixed satellite dish for a particular language or a motorised dish for multiple language channels. Similar to Sky TV in the UK, European countries broadcast their own version of TV packages available also through a dish in both standard and high definition resolution, with a majority of free-to-air and premium services available through a paid subscription.

A typical European satellite system will consist of a satellite dish and a set-top box. Options to consider will be the country of broadcast, the dish size required, type of set-top box needed, which is down to personal preference and the number of languages you would like to receive, as it is possible to receive more than one language. With a wide range of channels available that are free to watch, there are also some premium channels such as movies and sports that would need a subscription service active in the customer’s home country.

For the subscription service, you would require a specific set-top box, which of course we could supply, and then you would need to consider whether you would want a standard definition or a high definition package.

If more than one language is required, you could consider what is known as a ‘motorised’ satellite TV system, which is still a single satellite dish but one that can track more than one satellite for a range of different languages. This would be ideal for the multi-lingual customer or the satellite TV enthusiast.

Here at Elite AV Services, we have been at the forefront of European satellite services for over 25 years. We are able to supply and install, diagnose and repair a whole range of European systems, which included fixed, motorised and diplexed systems. Catering not just for the domestic customer, we are able to offer European and International systems that can be installed and combined within communal and commercial properties. We are a preferred contractor for a wide range of commercial clients, working alongside high-end management and building companies for their service and maintenance work.

All of our satellite systems are carried out in a professional manner and fully tested post-installation and demonstrated to the customer to assure peace of mind that they have a fully working system and have a clear understanding on how to operate it. When a satellite dish cannot be fitted on the wall of the property due to line of sight issues, we can install the dish on the roof to guarantee signal quality. Our technicians are health and safety approved to make sure the system is installed correctly, and all of our installations are backed up with a 1 year warranty.

Data & Wifi

Data & WiFi

Let’s discuss more on the following…

Experiencing poor WiFi in certain rooms of your home can be frustrating at the best of times, especially when it comes to something as simple as watching a movie via a streaming service but you’re experiencing pixelation and buffering or the kids gaming online with friends but experiencing constant signal drop out. Well, this is what is known as ‘black spots’ or ‘dead zones’, where the main WiFi hub/router isn’t broadcasting a strong enough wireless signal around the property to reach the rooms you require WiFi the most.

What Can Cause A Poor WiFi Connection?

Typically the main router is installed at ground level as that’s where the usual entry point for Virgin or BT would be, but in the common household, this position is not ideal to cover the whole property as it is not a central location.

Why Is My Internet Running Slow?

The most common questions when it comes to slow internet speeds are usually ones like, “is it my Internet Service Provider (ISP) or is it my WiFi router/hub?”. Well, this question can be initially answered by carrying out a simple broadband speed check, one at the location of the router and then again at various locations of the property where WiFi signals are weak. This will help to determine what is causing the slow internet speeds.

Your Internet Service Provider would have given you an ‘up-to’ recommended download speed, so if your speed check result is running short of this at the router, then we have solutions for ‘better than standard’ WiFi routers and hubs. If your speed test shows a weak download speed at the other parts of your property, then we can provide solutions for whole-home WiFi by suggesting a callout. Furthermore, see our (WiFi Signal Solutions) section to read how Elite AV Services can improve your WiFi signal in other areas/rooms of your property for a stress-free internet experience!

When it comes to eliminating those ‘black spots’ or ‘dead zones’, we can provide a solution that gives your property ‘whole-home WiFi. One of our expert technicians would need to attend your property as part of a site survey to assess and diagnose the areas of your property experiencing poor WiFi coverage. We can then discuss in detail a solution in making sure you have 100% reliable coverage at your property. Below we will list in detail some of the various solutions available.

WiFi Range Extenders & Boosters

A WiFi extender or repeater is the budget type solution to try and eliminate what is known as ‘dead zones’ in certain areas/rooms of your property. It’s a wireless adaptor that plugs into the mains and amplifies your existing wifi to give a wider coverage area.

Whole-Home Mesh WiFi

Whole-home WiFi systems are an affordable all-around reliable system for the user who wants that ‘seamless’ coverage and connection on all devices without switching between extenders. With a series of nodes that plug into the mains, this gives a whole-home solution that shares a single SSID and password.

Wired Access Points

This is more of an advanced system and one that would be fitted initially at the renovation stage (1st fix) or within a property such as Housing Of Multiple Occupation (HMO), apartments or shared housing such as student accommodation. This type of system consists of Access Points (APs) which are usually ceiling-mounted and wired back to the main router, creating a whole-home WiFi solution with 100% coverage and improved download speed, this system can also be set up as part of a managed system and can be accessed remotely by an app or computer.

Depending on the requirements of the client and type of property at which the installation is being carried out at, multiple satellite dishes can be incorporated within the communal system to receive both European and international programmes, allowing the user(s) a choice of both English and international channels along with the option to have a non-subscription and paid subscription service.

When it comes to the design and planning of your AV system, you can rely on Elite AV Services to eliminate any unwanted stress from the initial stage of planning to the installation of the final product. Sky Glass

Let’s discuss more on the following…

Since the start of the innovative technology, Sky TV launched back in 1989 with just 4 free to air channels! As time has progressed and the constant progression in modern technology, Sky now boasts an impressive 300+ channels just on a basic subscription package. Sky TV has moved on leaps and bounds, introducing cutting edge technology, by launching ‘Sky Glass’, which is an integrated Smart TV, with built-in Sky Q services, 6 speakers and a subwoofer for immersive sound, 4K Ultra HD Quantum Dot Display and most of all, eliminating the need for a satellite dish and cables!

Well, to keep up with the demand for streaming and those people who either can’t have a satellite dish installed due to permission or live in a property that is a listed building, then Sky Glass is the service for you.

Sky Glass has many beneficial factors from the service itself and your property too. As a company at the forefront of all TV broadcasting services, with Sky TV services being one of the most popular, we have faced countless situations where our customers are either refused permission or live in a listed building where a satellite dish installation for Sky TV just isn’t feasible.

As Sky Glass is an integrated TV screen with an inbuilt streaming service, it eliminates those obstacles and works purely through your broadband service. One of the other main benefits of this service is that you don’t need a satellite dish installed at your property with the need for cabling run from the dish to a set-top box, which in turn eliminates the need for any clutter and connected devices sitting in cabinets or on shelves.

Sky has thought outside the box with this innovative technology eliminating the need for satellite dishes, cabling and set-top boxes on show. Sky Glass operates similar to Sky Q but without the hassle of external satellite dish installations and works by streaming through your existing broadband.

With immersive 4k Ultra HD Quantum Dot technology (QLED), you can view your most favoured programmes in a stunning sharp Ultra High Definition resolution. Couple that with the built-in 6 speakers Dolby Atmos soundbar and it’ll bring your TV shows to life.

Sky Glass TV’s are available in 3 different sizes, being 43”, 55”, & 65” and are also VESA compliant giving you the option to have it mounted to the wall to give you that full cinematic experience, also saving floor space and being out of reach from children.

With over 25 years of experience in the satellite TV sector, we pride ourselves being involved ever since the start of this innovative technology. We are able to supply all types of satellite services, such as Sky TV, Sky Q and Sky Glass.

As well as being Sky installation accredited, we also specialise in whole-home WiFi Systems to assure your Sky Glass and streaming services can be viewed without any interruption from poor broadband issues or dead-zone problems, as Sky Glass is a streaming service relying on a dedicated broadband signal.

If you require more information regarding the latest Sky Glass service, then feel free to get in touch with Elite AV Services, where we can assist you with your requirements. Communal TV Systems

Communal TV Systems

Let’s discuss more on the following…

A communal TV system is a system that integrates terrestrial TV, satellite TV, Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) and FM radio, all at 1 location, then distributes to the end-user. This type of system is referred to as an Integrated Reception System (IRS). An IRS system is commonly installed in buildings such as apartment blocks, schools, hospitals, residential homes and many more. With technology constantly changing, new IRS systems are being installed using fibre optic technology, meaning just a single aerial and dish feeding multiple points and allowing a more robust signal to guarantee consistency throughout.

The advantage of an integrated reception system is that it allows the user(s) to choose which type of TV service they would like, whether it’s a paid subscription service or non-subscription service and have the choice of either digital Freeview TV, Sky & Sky Q, Freesat TV, Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) and FM Radio.

We can provide all types of Audio Visual AV systems, whether you’re looking for a simple system to be installed such as a TV to be mounted to the wall with a sound-bar below or whether you want that fully-fledged cinema room setup comprising of a projector, cinema screen and Dolby Atmos sound system, so that you can immerse yourself in the world of such things like movies, music and entertainment, all with the option to control everything from an app-based control panel.

Whatever your AV requirements, we can assist you with the recommended setup to suit your needs.

Communal systems function in many different ways and can be very versatile! A typical communal system would consist of a digital approved Freeview compatible aerial, Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) and FM radio aerial, alongside a fixed satellite dish receiving a signal for Sky TV and Freesat services which then a multi-core cable would be installed from the main headend system to a communal riser cupboard, then into a multi-switch unit that combines the input signals and then distributes to each individual apartment or room(s).

With the demand for new AV systems being required for installation in residential and commercial properties, we pride ourselves as a company in being highly professional and installing the system that you require.

All communal TV systems differ depending on the elements required, such as how many tv locations are going to be catered for and distributed within the communal system, the routing of cables and where multi-switches and amplifiers will be located. Our first port of call would be to attend the property as part of a site survey to assess exactly what the requirements are and the type of communal system required, such as a simple upgrade to an existing system in a small block of apartments, up to a fully-fledged fibre optic TV system for a housing estate? Once these steps have been taken into consideration, then we can design and plan a system to give the end-user perfect reception of their digital Freeview and Sky TV satellite services.

Once we have finished installing or repairing a communal TV system, we make sure all signals are fully tested using a specialist analyser to meet digital requirement approvals and all signals are recorded electronically and provided along with the sign-off.

All of our accredited technicians are always kept up-to-date with the vast growing technology and new systems being introduced to the market, so it’s our number 1 priority to make sure that when we visit your property and attend to your requirements, you are safe in the knowledge that we are installing a system we have the experience with.

CCTV Security

Let’s discuss more on the following…

CCTV & Security Systems

With crime being unexpected and carried out at random, you could potentially be the next target! A Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system will give you all-around peace of mind and will deter any threat from potential burglary and intrusion by unwanted visitors. Be a step ahead, by protecting your property with 24/7 recording and remote access with control from your smart device and be rest assured that your property, loved ones and valuables will be safe and secure.

Are you thinking about having a CCTV security system installed, but confused by the types of systems available? The more advanced systems require either ethernet or coaxial cable, depending on the type of cameras and recorder being fitted. Most homes are fitted with either directional or wide pan view cameras, being among the most popular cameras of choice. CCTV systems of today along with most recorders, come with cloud-based recording, meaning there’s no requirement of a physical hard drive.

There’s a lot to consider when choosing between wired and wireless types of CCTV systems. Below we’ll detail the pros and cons of a wired and wireless system.

Wired security systems require cables for power, video transmission and internet connection. Many homeowners or commercial customers with a large property will require more than the standard 4 cameras, so will require a system that can support and link the cameras together. A wired system can support up to 16 cameras along with a required Digital Video Recorder (DVR) or Network Video Recorder (NVR).

Wireless CCTV systems or a preferred option over the wired systems. Uptime is 100% and the footage is remotely sent from the cameras to the recorder. Although accessing the system is controlled by Wi-Fi, you will require mains-power to the recorder and a local internet access point. Wireless cameras are also more flexible when it comes to mounting and installation, and in addition, can also be wired as a backup. The location of the recorder will be key in this type of installation as Wi-Fi coverage will need to be optimised in order for a perfect reception from all installed cameras. The drawback to wireless cameras is that you would be limited to a max of 4 cameras.

With over 25 years of installing, maintaining and servicing Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, we can honestly say it means as much to us as it does to our clientele knowing that they have a 24/7 monitoring security system to protect their family, friends and property.

Not only do we install CCTV systems for residential properties making sure they have all-around protection and 24/7 peace of mind, but we also strive in protecting our commercial customers and their place of business too, by installing, servicing and maintaining.

With the ever-evolving technology of today and new types of CCTV systems available, our specialist team of accredited technicians are always attending the latest courses for all types of CCTV systems, making sure that we install the most reliable systems to suit all of our customer’s requirements and level of security. If you require an all-around level of protection to protect what is most valuable to you, contact Elite AV Services and we will guide you and recommend the best type of system suited to your needs.

Home Alarm Systems

If you need a new alarm system for your property or maybe a wireless doorbell with mobile phone connectivity, then you have come to the right place and you’re in safe hands.

Here we will go over the types of home security systems that are available and what is involved.

These include.

  • Types of home security systems
  • Nest and Ring doorbells
  • Wired Vs wireless alarms
  • Different brands available

First and foremost, home alarm systems aim to protect your property and those inside it against burglary and home intrusion. Having an alarm security system installed at your property is more likely to deter any potential threat of burglary and intrusion and keep those unwanted visitors at bay, giving you around-the-clock peace of mind knowing your property, loved ones and valuables are protected!

There are a whole host of security alarm systems available to suit everyone’s needs and the level of protection they require. We can provide a range of burglar alarm systems that are ‘smart’ enabled, featuring the latest security tech allowing you to remotely connect to your property using your phone, tablet or PC. Such systems come with touch screen alarm panels, door contacts, PIR motion sensors and Wi-Fi doorbells.

A traditional alarm system, also known also as a ‘bells only’ system consists of a siren which is usually installed either at the front or side of your property, along with sensors fitted to the doors and windows. If an unwanted visitor takes the chance to break into your property, the system is then triggered and a very high pitched noise is sounded alerting the intruder that they have breached one of the sensors within the system and this would deter or scare away the intruding party. The drawback with a traditional alarm system is that you have no control over your property being breached if you’re away from your property.

Whereas a smart alarm system will give you full peace of mind and overall control. This system can consist of video doorbells, external sirens, sensors for doors and windows, PIR sensors that are pet friendly and can even go as far as allowing you to add flood sensors, fire and life safety equipment, as well as wellness benefits. This system would link to a central hub which would be controlled over WiFi using a touch screen panel and can even be operated by your smart device with the simple touch of a button, whether you’re home or away.

Elite AV Services has been at the forefront of home security for over 25 years. We value ‘you’ the customer and take pride in making sure your property, loved ones and valuables are safe and secure! With technology constantly evolving, we ensure our specialist team of accredited technicians are always the first in line to keep up with the latest technology, making sure that you have access to the latest and most advanced systems available on the market.

Catering not only for residential properties, but we also install, service and maintain security systems for commercial customers to make sure their place of work has 24/7 monitoring security solutions.

If you’re looking to upgrade your existing security system or are simply looking to have a bespoke system designed from scratch, then our expert team will advise the best system to suit which level of security you require, giving you peace of mind for a seamless installation and knowing that you will have all-round protection.

These include.

  • Why should you mount your TV to the wall?

Space Saving & Safety

Space is at a premium, especially in some regions of the UK. Mounting your TV to the wall can free up that precious floor space and give your living room a much bigger look and feel without the need for a TV stand or cabinet.

When it comes to safety, especially for those with young children, safety is a must! TV wall mounting your TV will prevent inquisitive toddlers from touching the screen.

Viewing Angles

In certain situations, TV wall mounting in your preferred location is not always possible. This could be due to obstacles in the way, such as seating arrangements, glare on the screen, the layout of the room, and other potential complications.

To eliminate this issue, there are many types of brackets available on the market with different functionalities.

These brackets include.

  • Fixed brackets
  • Tilting brackets
  • Full motion brackets
  • And hydraulic pull-down brackets, which we will elaborate in more detail in the mext section.

Cinematic Viewing

Technology has moved on leaps and bounds since the days of plasma and LCD flat panel TVs.

With technology constantly evolving, major brands such as Samsung, LG, and Sony (just to name a few) have made our TV viewing more of a cinematic experience in the comfort of our own homes, so it’s never been a better time to use our TV wall mounting services.

As technology has progressed, along with resolutions on premium TVs being more in-depth with QLED & OLED technology, you can now immerse yourself in the world of movies, music, and entertainment and enjoy that cinematic pleasure on the comfort of your sofa.

To complement that cinematic feel, you have the option to add a surround sound system or sound bar to your setup to assure a complete cinematic experience. There are many options when choosing which audio setup to go for.

We will explain the options in more detail here.

When choosing the right sound system for your viewing experience, the main question is, what is the right sound system solution you should choose?

This can depend on many factors, from the size of your room, the size of your TV, what your viewing preferences are and so much more…!

We will go over some of the many options which are available on the market that will benefit your TV wall mounting and enhance your viewing pleasure.

Sound-Bars

A sound bar is a great option to get the most out of your new TV wall mounting installation.

With the in-built TV speakers not giving the greatest of sounds as standard, a soundbar can enhance that. Some soundbar packages are even supplied with a wireless subwoofer for that added bass kick.

A soundbar can be placed on a mantle piece below the TV or even wall mounted for a sleek design look and a better depth of field for the sound to transmit around the room.

Typical budget brands range from Samsung, Sony, and LG and go up to the more premium brands such as Sonos (Play Bar and Arc) and BOSE.

Surround Sounds Systems

If you are a TV enthusiast and like to immerse yourself in the world of movies, music, and entertainment, then a home cinema system would be the ideal option for you.

These systems consist of a full surround sound setup being front and rear speakers alongside a bass box for that added rumble.

Typical brands such as Sony and LG are available for an affordable experience, whereas brands such as Sonos, Denon, and KEF to name a few, will give the ultimate surround sound experience.

Fixed TV Wall Bracket

A fixed TV wall bracket is an ideal bracket for situations where you will have your TV installed at eye level and do not require access to the AV ports on the back of the TV.

With a fixed wall mount, they sit more flush with the wall giving a more streamlined look.

Tilting TV Wall Bracket

A tilting wall bracket is an ideal option if you are wanting to have your TV mounted above a fireplace or at a high level, which then gives you the option to tilt your TV for the best viewing angle.

This is also ideal for those who require easy access to the AV ports at the back of the TV without having to take the TV off the wall.

Full-Motion TV Bracket

This is what is also known as a cantilever-type bracket.

This type of bracket allows the user to tilt their TV as well as have the option to adjust the TV in the left and right positions. This type of bracket is also ideal for those who want multiple viewing angles, such as if the TV is to be installed in the corner of a room or you have a large room with a varied seating arrangement.

Hydraulic Pull-Down TV Bracket

This bracket is ideal if you are looking to have your TV installed above a fireplace or on a chimney breast.

It allows you to pull the bracket down to eye level to reduce strain from having to constantly look up at the TV. You also have the option to swivel the TV left or right for a better viewing preference.

So you have now made the decision to use our TV wall mounting service but may be uncertain of the wall type and whether your TV can even be mounted to that wall.

In most modern properties, the walls can be plasterboard with a cavity or sometimes what is known as ‘dot and dab’. These types of walls would require a stud finder and need specialist fixings to secure the TV.

In older properties, walls are usually brick or masonry making the installation easier to install.

In certain situations, some installations do require the wall to be reinforced to allow the weight of the TV and the bracket.

Here At Elite AV Services, we have many years of experience and knowledge that can help install any make and type of TV and bracket to any kind of wall material in any property.

In some cases, a site survey would be required, where we can fully assess your requirements and go over the options available and give advice on the best course of action to take, to make sure the installation is safe and secure.

As part of your TV installation, we need to consider how we can route the cables from any connected devices, such as a games console, Freeview set-top-box, Freesat receiver, or Sky Q box for example.

There are 3 main ways of concealing these cables.

Cable Conduit

This option is the most cost-effective option to conceal your cables so they are out of sight.

Conduit can vary in size and width and is also available in squared and oval. The main advantages are that you can easily add or remove any cables if you so wish.

Conduit can also be an alternative option for those in rented properties as it is classed as a non-permanent installation and can be easily removed.

Cavity Concealment

If you live in a new build property, your walls are more than likely to be plasterboard or what is also known as drywall.

Generally, there is a void/cavity which can allow the cables to be hidden behind the wall for a seamless look. This is finished off with a cable entry brush plate, to make good any exposed holes in yuor wall.

Channel & Plastering

When your walls are brick or concrete, embedding the cables can become more of a challenge.

We would need to cut into the wall using a professional machine to channel deep enough to accommodate the connecting cables from your AV devices, then finish off by making good with a bond and plastered finish, ready for you to paint or decorate.

Ever since the introduction of the very first VESA-compliant flat-screen TV, we have been in high demand from customers requesting to have their TVs professionally wall-mounted.

While TV wall mounting can seem somewhat of a DIY task, wouldn’t you rather have peace of mind knowing that your TV can be professionally installed to the wall by an accredited technician with a wealth of knowledge?

Our local technicians will provide a customer satisfactory service making sure your system is perfectly level and all the connecting cables are fully concealed.

Sky Q & Sky TV Installation

Are looking for a Sky Q, Sky Plus or SKY HD installation? Maybe you need your satellite dish installed out of sight? If so, then you have come to the right place.

Here we will go over the benefits of our Satellite TV services.

These include.

  • Different types of Sky TV services
  • Sky TV subscription packages
  • Standard Definition and High Definition signals
  • Having your dish fitted out of sight.

To discuss your Sky TV installation or repair in more detail or to book a free quote, then get in touch using our contact form. Alternatively, carry on reading

Unlike terrestrial television transmitting a signal to a TV aerial from a local transmitter, satellite TV requires a satellite dish that receives a signal from a geo-stationary satellite in space, which is then received through what is known as a Low Noise Block (LNB) from the reflector, which is the dish itself. To receive satellite TV, whether it’s Sky or Freesat, you will require a satellite dish and a set-top box for Sky TV services or a compatible Freesat set-top box or television for Freesat Services.

There are a whole host of options for satellite TV services to suit every customer’s requirements and viewing needs. If you’re looking to indulge in the world of entertainment, movies and music, then a paid subscription service like Sky HD or Sky Q would be the best-suited service for you! On the other hand, If you would just like to receive free-to-air channels but still want that crisp high-definition picture, then Freesat HD TV would be the one.

Satellite TV requires a signal from a satellite dish, which is then transmitted to either a Sky HD or Sky Q receiver for Sky TV services or a Freesat set-top box or compatible Freesat television for Freesat services.

Depending on surrounding obstructions, some satellite dish installations are not straightforward and have to be installed either on the roof or at a high level to receive an adequate signal for satellite services.

A standard satellite dish package commonly used for Sky TV services, comes complete with a standard wall bracket, whereas in some situations more complex or non-standard equipment is required to receive a signal. Or if you would rather the satellite dish be discreet and out of view, then our technicians will give the best course of action to make sure the dish is located in a position where signal levels are at a recommended level for satellite services and the dish can’t be seen.

With over 25 years experience in the satellite TV sector, we can pride ourselves on being involved ever since the start of this innovative technology. We are able to supply all types of satellite services, such as Freesat TV, which includes the dish and installation, even the set-top box of your choice for Freesat HD.

We cater not only for the domestic customer, we also carry out work for commercial and communal clientele, which includes contracts such as satellite dish relocations for building companies, maintenance work for housing estates and much more.

If you are thinking or are in the process of upgrading your existing Sky HD system for the latest Sky Q services and your existing dish has been installed on the roof by a previous company, it will require a Wideband Low Noise Block (LNB) replacement to receive these up-to-date services, or if you just generally want the satellite dish out of sight, then Elite AV Services can carry out this type work for you as we are health and safety approved when it comes to special heights installations.
