Freeview is the UK’s Largest Digital Terrestrial Television Service. Before Freeview TV, the UK relied on Analogue TV, which only gave the option of five channels! In 2007 Freeview was launched alongside Analogue TV, and whilst updates were common to improve Digital Freeview TV, the switch over from Analogue to Digital was finalised in October of 2012.
Freeview TV now boasts an impressive 140 Free To Air (FTA) TV & Radio channels with 85 Standard Definition (SD) channels and 15 of them in stunning High Definition (HD). Also, there are more than 30 radio stations including BBC Radio and most commercial local stations. So, if you are looking for a non-subscription service, Digital Freeview TV is definitely the way forward!
Freeview Play opens up new doors in the world of TV Services! With access to over 70 live channels and 15 of them being High Definition, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Freeview TV requires a digital compatible signal sourced from a digital aerial, and Freeview Play services require a reliable internet connection. With both of these in situ and a Freeview Play compatible TV or set-top box, this enhanced service can all be yours!
With catch up apps like BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, My5 and UKTV Play, you’ll never miss out on your favourite shows and series ever again. With an intelligent Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), not only can you use this function for live programming but thanks to a clever rollback function, programmes that have been aired in the last 7 days are available at the touch of a button.
Freeview TV requires an adequate signal input from a digital compatible aerial to either your Freeview compatible TV, Set-Top Box (STB) or Digital Video Recorder (DVR). Depending on the area you live in and possible surrounding obstructions, the type of digital aerial required can not only change in type but the height at which it has to be installed, to avoid interference from adjacent transmitters and other obstructions such as tall trees and buildings.
With the introduction of 4G and 5G mobile data, the way Freeview is now received requires a specific type of aerial either being a Wideband or Group T receiving aerial with an LTE in-built filter to avoid interference from 4G and 5G frequencies. To be assured of being future-proofed, the standard analogue aerials are more than likely to struggle in receiving future digital channels as the Freeview network increases in popularity.
Unlike some aerial companies offering cheap ‘from‘ prices advertised on their websites to lure potential customers into a false sense of reality – here at Elite AV Services, we strive to make sure we give ‘you’ the customer a positive sense of customer satisfaction and peace of mind; this is why we don’t promote ‘from‘ prices on our website. We will initially attend your property on a site survey to fully assess what your specific requirements are. This is followed up by a detailed written no obligation quotation and the recommended plan of action and options to give you a full working system that is backed up with a 1-year peace of mind warranty.
All of our aerial installation and repair services are carried out by our accredited technicians who will make sure everything has been specifically tested on specialised analysers to assure all Freeview signals are digital approved.
